POLICE BRIEFS
Huntington Beach police were still looking Tuesday for two men
suspected of holding up a bank last week.
Police already have four suspects in custody -- three men and one
juvenile -- in connection with the robbery at Union Bank in the 8900
block of Adams Avenue on Jan. 17. Los Angeles residents Donald Parker,
25, and Clifton Ross Jr., 21, and Glenn Love, 29, of Inglewood were taken
into custody and are being held in the city jail. The fourth suspect, a
17-year-old male, was taken to Orange County Juvenile Hall.
“At 11:40 a.m., a citizen told police that three black males had
entered the bank, dressed in black and carrying black plastic bags,” said
Sgt. Janet Perez, of the Huntington Beach Police Department. “The robbery
alarm came about three minutes later.”
The three men then brandished handguns and ordered bank patrons and
employees to the floor before taking an unknown amount of money and
fleeing the scene in two vehicles, she added.
Witnesses at the scene gave police a description of getaway cars, one
a white Chevrolet Lumina, and the other a dark red Buick.
Police spotted the Lumina carrying two of the suspects at the
intersection of Magnolia Street and Slater Avenue in Huntington Beach.
They followed the car to the northbound Cherry Street exit of the San
Diego Freeway and apprehended the suspects.
The second car, carrying four additional suspects, was also spotted on
the San Diego Freeway, and pursued to the Rossmoor area near the cross
streets of Foster Road and Copa de Oro. One suspect fled the vehicle on
foot and the other three abandoned the Buick in a residential
neighborhood, police said.
Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Bill Peterson said Garden Grove, Seal
Beach and Los Alamitos police departments and the Orange County Sheriff’s
Department assisted in the search for the men, but only two were found
before the search was called off that night.
Riverside man sought in shooting
Investigators with the Huntington Beach Police Department are
searching for a Riverside County man suspected of committing a robbery
and injuring two residents, shooting one in the head, Tuesday morning.
Police officials are looking for Vincent Felix, described as Latino,
weighing 195 pounds and standing 6 feet 2 inches tall. He also has a
shaved head, brown eyes and tattoos of Chinese writing on the right and
left sides of his head, as well as a pair of green dice with red flames
tattooed on the back of his head.
A second adult male suspect is also sought, police said.
Officers found the adult victims, a man and a woman whose names are
being withheld pending the investigation, while responding to a robbery
reported at 2:24 a.m. at a home in the 21000 block of Leisure Lane,
police officials said.
The male victim was found with gunshot wounds to the head from a small
caliber handgun, while the woman suffered undisclosed head injuries, said
Lt. Chuck Thomas of the Huntington Beach Police Department. Both were
reported in stable condition at a local hospital.
Thomas added that the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived,
and the amount of property loss is unknown at this time.
Anyone with information about Felix’s whereabouts or the crime should
call the Huntington Beach Police Department at (714) 375-5066 or their
local law enforcement agency.
