Women’s basketball: Lions take care of Hawks

EL CAJON - The Vanguard University women’s basketball team used a
strong offensive performance in the first half to defeat host Christian
Heritage, 65-56, in Golden State Athletic Conference action Tuesday
night.
Becki Huddle led the Lions (12-5, 5-3 in conference) with 12 points,
while Beth Weidler chipped in 11, including three three-pointers.
Vanguard held the Hawks (4-14, 2-6) to 30% shooting in the first half
and jumped out to a 39-20 lead. In a balenced attack, six Lions’ players
had seven or more points in the game.
The Lions will continue GSAC competition when they host Hope
International Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
