Men’s basketball: Another loss for Vanguard

EL CAJON - The losing woes continue for the Vanguard University
men’s basketball team, as the Lions suffered a 67-47 Golden State
Athletic Conference setback at Christian Heritage Tuesday.
Dennis Keane led Vanguard (4-15, 0-8 in conference) with a game-high
20 points and center Ian Boys scored 12. The Lions shot 33 % from the
field in the first half as the Hawks (17-2, 4-1) took advantage with a
38-23 lead. Vanguard finished 17 of 48 from the field (35.4%)
Christian Heritage’s Ben Nicholson shot 5 of 13 from the three-point
line and finished with a team-high 15 points.
The Hawks took advantage of the Lions’ 23 turnovers. Christian
Heritage converted the turnovers into 27 points.
Vanguard will try to grab its first GSAC win when the Lions host Hope
International Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
