Boys basketball: Eagles routed on road
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA - Call this a contract killing. The previous
coach signed the contract, so first-year Estancia High boys basketball
head man Chris Sorce had to watch host Santa Margarita (17-2), ranked No.
2 in Orange County, roll to a 94-40 nonleague victory Monday night.
Eliasar Maldonado led Estancia (6-11) with 19 points, all after
halftime, while Kenny Valbuena and George Prado added seven apiece for
the visitors.
Micah Young (sprained ankle) did not play for Estancia, which returns
to Pacific Coast League play Wednesday at Corona del Mar.
