BRIEFLY IN DATEBOOK
The Musical Theater Academy of Orange County, a nonprofit group
dedicated to developing children’s talent through musical theater, will
hold auditions for its spring class productions -- “Little Shop of
Horrors,” “Meet Me In St. Louis” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
Age criteria varies for each show. Many roles are double cast, and
everyone who auditions gets a part. Students will receive professional
drama, vocal and dance training to develop their individual talents,
stage presence and self-esteem.
Initial rehearsals will help students prepare a song, short script
selection and simple choreography for a non-intimidating audition. Weekly
rehearsals are held at The Musical Theater Academy, 2488 Newport Blvd.,
Suite C-2, Costa Mesa.
Rehearsals and casting for “Little Shop of Horrors” will be held from
4 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24. “Alice in Wonderland” will start casting and
rehearsing at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 30. “Meet Me in St. Louis” will begin the
process at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 6. Information: (949) 646-6624.
