Motorcycle swap meet to be held at fairgrounds
Inter-show Motorsports Promotions will hold a motorcycle swap meet
from 5 to 10 p.m. Jan. 5 in Building 10 at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
The swap meet will include new and used motorcycles, motorcycle parts
and accessories for sale.
Admission is $5.75 for adults and $3 for seniors. Children 12 and
younger are free. Parking also will be free.
The fairgrounds is at 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa.

Applications sought for spots on city commissions
The Costa Mesa City Council is accepting applications for positions on
the Planning Commission and the Parks, Recreation Facilities and Parkways
Commission.
Both commissions will have five members.
The Planning Commission makes recommendations to the City Council and
takes action to regulate future growth, development and beautification of
the city.
The parks commission considers park, recreation and parkway issues,
including programs, user fees and studies.
To apply for a position on either commission, residents must send a
letter of interest and a brief resume to Mayor Libby Cowan at City Hall,
P.O. Box 1200, Costa Mesa, CA 92628-1200.
The application deadline is Jan. 12.

Volunteers needed at senior center
The Costa Mesa Senior Center is seeking volunteers to take meals to
homebound seniors, to provide front-desk reception and to be goodwill
ambassadors and docents.
Training will be provided for the drivers, ambassadors and docents.
The senior center is at 695 W. 19th St., Costa Mesa.

Chamber presents a breakfast boost
The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce will have a Breakfast Boost from
7:15 to 8:45 a.m. Jan. 18 at the Costa Mesa Country Club.
Bonnie Dean, a motivational speaker, will speak at the networking
event.
The price is $17, or $12 for prepaid reservations.
The country club is at 1701 Golf Course Drive, Costa Mesa.
