Orange Coast College will offer a three-unit course on oceanography
and another on horticulture.
The syllabus for the introduction to oceanography course will include
such basics as physical and chemical properties of the sea, biology of
the ocean, geological composition of the basin and how to prevent ocean
contamination.
The horticulture course will focus on plant propagation, producing
hydrangeas, geraniums and other flowers and vegetables.
Both courses are transferable to both the UC and Cal State systems.
Classes will begin Jan. 17 and Jan. 29. Students may register in
person Jan. 16-Feb. 2 and over the phone Jan. 2-23. The fee is $11 per

OCC to hold adventure series
“A Family Sails Mexico” will be the title for the opening presentation
of Orange Coast College’s 26th annual Adventure Series on Jan. 12.
The four-part series will showcase ways in which experienced sailors
have overcome unique challenges at sea. The group will meet for four
Wednesdays beginning Jan. 12 at the Robert B. Moore Theatre in the
