Briefly in the news
-- Mathis Winkler
The Costa Mesa Community Foundation is looking for people interested
in joining the organization’s board.
Two of the nine seats on the board are vacant.
City Council members formed the foundation last year to solicit,
collect and distribute tax-exempt money from individuals and businesses
in the city. The money is used for projects that benefit Costa Mesa
residents.
The foundation’s mission statement is “to provide opportunities for
donors wishing to contribute assets for the benefit for the community.”
So far, the foundation has received almost $60,000 to use for community
projects.
Anyone interested in applying for the positions may send a letter of
interest and resume to The Costa Mesa Community Foundation, P.O. Box
1200, Costa Mesa, CA 92628. The deadline for applications is Jan. 2.
