Women’s basketball: Vanguard women roll
COSTA MESA - Five players scored in double figures as host Vanguard
University beat up on Lawrence University from Wisconsin for a 105-41
nonconference women’s basketball victory Monday night.
Laura Lee (15 points), Erin Edmiston and Kelly Boeke (13 apiece),
Rachel Fikse (12) and Becki Huddle (11) led the way offensively for the
Lions, who had 12 players score.
Vanguard (6-2) led, 50-20, at halftime and upped the lead to 63 by
shooting nearly 66% in the second half (21 of 32) and forcing 39 Viking
turnovers.
Huddle added seven assists for the winners, who return to action Dec.
28, when they host the two-day GSAC Challenge.
Lawrence fell to 0-7.
