Men’s basketball: Pirates erupt early on Southwestern
COSTA MESA - The Orange Coast College men’s basketball team shot
55% from the field in the first half and controlled visiting Southwestern
from start to finish en route to a 92-79 nonconference win Thursday.
Nick Burwell led the Pirates (7-4) with 21 points, while Ryan Earl (16
points) and Jeremy Madrid (15 points) added to the Pirates’ total.
Chad Hagedorn controlled the glass, pulling down 13 rebounds to go
along with his eight points and four assists.
OCC opened up a 26-point lead after the first half and never looked
back. Tim Thompson scored 17 points to lead Southwestern (4-10).
