BELLFLOWER - Costa Mesa High’s girls basketball team dominated
Notre Dame Academy in Wednesday’s opener of the Bellflower-Mayfair
Tournament, 63-34, with Nancy Hatsushi, Leigh Marshall and Rhondi Naff
pacing the attack.
Coach Jim Weeks watched Nancy Hatsushi score 14 points, dish off 10
assists and steal the ball five times, with Marshall (14) and Naff (13)
adding their scoring touch.
Mesa will deal with Valley Christian tonight (7:30) at the same site
(Bellflower High) in the second round. Valley Christian’s tall Crusaders
are the defending champions in the CIF Division IV Playoffs.
