Club soccer: OCU United extends win streak to 10

The Orange Coast United Rush girls under 12 club soccer team
completed a successful weekend sweep by defeating Anaheim’s JUSA Select
88, 3-0, and PSC Power of Riverside, 5-1, this weekend to extend its
winning streak to 10 games.
In Saturday’s contest with JUSA Select, Sammie Castillo scored the
first goal off a corner kick by Courtney Anderson.
Anderson later scored off an assist from Cindy Mendoza, who later
scored off a pass from Castillo to complete the scoring.
Amy Staudinger started the scoring on Sunday against PSC Power off an
assist from Robin Ibbetson. Ibbetson, Brittany Koster, Sasha Key and
Anderson each added goals for the Rush.
The Rush’s defense was led by Amanda Shaw, Tori Rocke, Elyse VanLeer,
Jennifer Powell, Brianna Baker, Chelsea Wisdon and Jaque Anderson.
In other club soccer action:
OCU Sting 6, CQSC Synergy 0 - The Sting, a boys under 19 silver elite
team improved their record to 7-3-0 with the win on Saturday.
Jeff Kinkopf and Mike Culp got the offense going early with goals,
while Jose Perez added two goals before the end of the first half.
Kinkopf and David Jenkins would add two second-half goals to complete
the scoring for the Sting.
The remainder of the offense was aided by Ryan Lancaster, Brian
Walton, Brendan Fenno, Chasen Marshall, B.J. Vandrovec, Jordan Christian,
Brian Henry, Justin Collins and Billy Lund, while the defense was
anchored by Bijan Ewalt, Scott Nickerson, Chris Baez and Sam Coons.
