Shayne Nelson scored an unassisted goal in the final period to break a

2-2 tie and the goal proved to be the difference for the first-place

Menehunes, who edged the Lazer Blades, 3-2, in Campbell Division weekend

action at the Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

It was the second goal of the contest for Nelson, who also scored off

a Bradley Salisbury assist in the second quarter.

John Sacco opened the scoring for the Menehunes (5-0) in the opening

period, his goal set up by a Marcus Kurth assist. Goalie Dean Metherell

had 15 saves.

Max DeVries scored both goals for the Lazer Blades (0-5) and goalie

Brad Brandenburg made 30 saves.

Hurricanes 6, Surf Hounds 4

Trevor Jackson slapped home four goals, Cheyne Shoffner and Gian-paul

Stebbins each scored once, Colby Rios dished out a pair of assists, and

goalie Kyle Morrill stopped 21 shot attempts for the Hurricanes, who

evened their record at 2-2.

Nathan Hoffman, Brandi Bertrand, Timothy Tauber, and Travis Beckman

all scored, Mitch Robinson had two assists, and goalie Janien Barber had

18 saves to lead the Surf Hounds (3-2).

Warriors 2, Razors 1

David Abady and Ryan Kalama scored single goals and goalie Austin

Shannon had 21 saves as the Warriors (2-3) came back from a 1-0

first-quarter deficit.

Dylan Miller scored for the Razors (3-2) and goalie Damian Raburn made

27 saves.
