Mighty Mite Gold Chargers fall, 38-12
The Huntington Beach Mighty Mite Gold Chargers’ bid for an upset of
undefeated Yorba Linda came up short Saturday, as the host Seminoles came
away with a 38-12 victory.
Gregory Souders scored on a 35-yard run, and Philip Vullo scored on a
30-yard run for the Mighty Mite Gold Chargers, who fell to 3-6 overall.

Huntington Beach Green Chargers 13, Garden Grove 12
A Jake Machado hit in the final two minutes Saturday caused a fumble,
and Jullien Herrera was there for the recovery, as Huntington Beach held
on for the victory.
Brandon Visnoski’s touchdown run and extra point at the start of the
second half brought the Mighty Mite Green Chargers back from a 12-6
halftime deficit.
Scott Martin scored in the opening half for Huntington Beach, which
will take on Saddleback Valley on Saturday (3 p.m.) in Monterey Park.
The Green Chargers were coming off a 27-0 pasting of the Cerritos
Titans, the team’s first shutout of the season. Martin, Richard Nobella,
Brandon Visnoski and David Pena scored touchdowns, and safety Eloy
Apodaca recorded a safety.
IN CUB DIVISION ACTION:
Huntington Beach Green Chargers 20, La Habra 10
Gavin Perdomo, behind the blocking of J.T. Doran, Elijah Herrera, Adam
Petrarca and Brenton Visnoski, rushed for three touchdowns as the Green
Chargers beat the Lions in the Flag Bowl in Saddleback Valley.
Huntington Beach led by just 8-2 at the half, but Perdomo scored twice
in the second half, once following a Doran interception return that set
up the Green Chargers at the La Habra five-yard line to put the game
away.
The Green Charger defense was led by Perdomo, Scott Orel, Ryan Gross,
Bryce Ewing, Steve Green, Trenton Ashcoff, Max Schultz, Keith Adamiak and
Randy Baker.
