Overwhelming public response to the Orange County Performing Arts
Center’s engagement of David Copperfield and his show “Unknown Dimension”
has prompted the addition of a 3 p.m. matinee Dec. 2 to the original
schedule of performances. Show times include: 6 and 9 p.m. Nov. 30 and
Dec. 2. The 9 p.m. performance Nov. 30 will be interpreted in sign
language. Tickets are $30 to $50. The Center is at 600 Town Center Drive,

Pelli to be honored for designs
Cesar Pelli, an internationally acclaimed architect, will be the guest
of honor and keynote speaker at the 19th annual Orange County Business
Committee for the Arts Awards presentation at 6 p.m. Nov. 19 at the
Newport Beach Marriott Hotel, 900 Newport Center Drive. Pelli was
recently chosen to design the Orange County Performing Arts Center’s
$200-million concert hall expansion project and South Coast Repertory’s

Reception set today for artists in show
A reception for local artists represented in the Newport Beach
Artists’ Fall Juried Art Show will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today
at Newport Beach City Hall, 3300 Newport Blvd. The public is invited. The
exhibit, which will be on display through Jan. 8, includes works in all
two-dimensional media, from photography to oil painting. Free.
