* Victoria Street and Placentia Avenue: A robbery was reported at 3:02
a.m. Monday.
* Morristown Lane: An auto theft was reported in the 180 block at 8:29
a.m. Monday.
* Scenic Avenue: An auto theft was reported in the 1600 block at 10:37
a.m. Monday.
* Towne Street: A hit-and-run was reported in the 800 block at 1:49
p.m. Monday.
* Harbor Boulevard: An assault was reported in the 3300 block at 2:33
p.m. Monday.
* Bristol Street: Grand theft was reported in the 3300 block at 4:55
p.m. Monday.
NEWPORT BEACH
* Playa: A case of identity theft was reported in the 500 block at
4:04 p.m. Monday when an unknown person used the victim’s Social Security
number to open an account with Pacific Bell.
* Newport Center Drive: An unknown person was reported to have used a
victim’s credit card to buy $3,200 of merchandise at Sharper Image at
9:27 a.m. Monday.
* Newport Center Drive: A laptop computer and accessories valued at
about $1,200 were reported stolen from the trunk of a car in the 600
block at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
