NJMAAF: Pee Wee Seahawks rip past Westminster
The Newport-Mesa Junior All-American Football Pee Wee Seahawks
(ages 10-12) breezed past Westminster, 40-0, on Sunday.
Quarterback Matt Hauser led the offense in the second quarter when he
connected with tight end Matt Raiger for a 40-yard touchdown.
The offensive line of Lou Truxton, Charles Vickery III, Riley Murphy
and Nick Armandariz did a good job of allowing Hauser time to pick apart
the Westminster defense.
Newport’s defense was led by Tony Jones, Buck Evans, David Root, Jake
Lemmerman, Matt Lutton, Cameron White and Zack Sepulveda.
In other NMJAAF action:
Clinic Seahawks 21, Orange Chiefs 0 - In the 8-10 classification, the
Seahawks were led by defensive standouts Steven Coleman, Grant Johnson,
Chase Lanting, Joey Dicaprio, Nick Muhler and Matt Morris.
The Seahawks offensive line was dominant again. They were led by
Jordan Spencer, Patrick Marin-Finn, Andy Hayes and Adrian Lucha.
The offense was sparked by running backs Travis Sorenson, Austin
Raiger and Bucko Theriot. Quarterback Jordan Lusk completed 5 of 6
passes, connecting with receivers Kyle Gladding, Kyle Johnson, Danny
Muskovits, Travis Sorenson and Austin Raiger.
The Junior Clinic Seahawks (ages 7-8) battled the Corona Panthers
right down the finish.
The offense was led by Nick Tripi, who scored on a 48-yard touchdown
run. Michael Taormina, Austin Blodgett and Luke Christiano played well in
the backfield, while Josh Starnes, Brett Oatman and Ryan Hatcher anchored
the line.
On defense, the Seahawks were led by Brett Klein, Nick Taormina, Reid
Johnson and Michael Taormina.
