COSTA MESA
* Hamilton Street and Wallace Avenue: A 25-year-old man was arrested
at 3:49 a.m. Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs
or alcohol. The man also had an outstanding warrant and was an unlicensed
driver, according to the police report.
* Meyer Place: A 38-year-old man in the 2100 block was arrested at
12:15 a.m. Sunday for violating parole.
* Newport Boulevard: Deputies at 9:32 a.m. Sunday arrested a
37-year-old man in the 1900 block for outstanding warrants.
* Shalimar Drive: An 18-year-old man in the 700 block was arrested at
10:45 p.m. Saturday for selling narcotics.
* Wallace Ave: A 35-year-old man was arrested in the 1900 block at
1:45 a.m. Sunday on battery charges.
NEWPORT BEACH
* Birch Street: A man reported that someone stole a $450 digital
camera from his car while it was at Newport Car Wash in the 3700 block.
The alleged theft occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
* 18th Street and Balboa Boulevard: While a man was swimming in the
ocean between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Tuesday, someone stole his property, valued
at $1,295, from the beach.
* Irvine Avenue: A roof medallion worth $2,000 was reported stolen
from a house in the 600 block Friday. The theft occurred between 6:30 and
8:45 a.m. that morning.
* West Coast Highway: A robber stole $404 from the Wells Fargo Bank
branch in the 2700 block at 3:42 p.m. Friday. According to the police
report, a man described as having acne scars on his face, carrying a
brown leather planner and wearing glasses and a white, long-sleeve dress
shirt, gave a bank teller a note demanding money in $50 and $100 bills.
The man also threatened to use a handgun, although no gun was visible.
When he received the money, he fled on foot.
