Race for the Cure set for Sept. 24
CORONA DEL MAR - The 2000 Orange County Race for the Cure takes
place Sunday, Sept. 24, beginning at the Newport Beach Marriott.
The race helps raise money for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation. Last year’s race raised nearly $1.4 million.
Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. with the women’s 5K run/walk
beginning at 7:35. A family one-mile fun walk as well as a coed 5k run
and a coed 5K walk will also take place, followed by a breast cancer
survivor parade and tribute.
The course begins in front of the Newport Beach Marriott and finishes
in front of the Pacific Life Building. It features an open breeze and
live entertainment along the way.
Walk-in registration is underway at the New Balance Store in Corona
del Mar Plaza, as well as JCPenney at the Westminster Mall, Laguna Hills
Mall and the Brea Mall.
