Kings clip Red Wings, 6-2

The Kings kept their grip on first place in the Campbell Division

standings Friday by beating the Red Wings, 6-2, in action at Coast 2

Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington Beach.

Ryan Kalama and Zach Gillespie each scored twice and Marcus Kurth

handed out two assists for the Kings, whose scoring also included goals

by D.J. Mihalik and Brooke Easton, and assists by Mihalik and James

Patton.

Goalie Blake Easton recorded 17 saves as the Kings improved to 5-1-1.

Shayne Nelson scored once with an assist, Darrell McDonald scored

once, and goalie Rebecca Koppel had 18 saves for the Red Wings (4-3).

The Breakers 5, Menehune 2

Nathan Hoffman slapped in four consecutive goals, Michael Marchand

scored once and had an assist, John Goldsby and Matt Bodziak each had an

assist, and goalie Matthew Inouye stopped 15 shot attempts to lead The

Breakers (2-3-2).

Austin Shannon scored for the Menehune (4-2-1), Kevin Seybert and

Mitch Robinson each had an assist, and goalie Isaiah Jimenez had 19

saves.

Slapshots 5, Penguins 2

Alie Dufault scored three goals and added an assist and Max De Vries

scored twice and dished out a pair of assists for the Slapshots, who

collected their initial victory to improve to 1-6.

James Newman scored both goals for the Penguins (3-4), Tony McConnell

had an assist, and goalie Jeff Fuzzard had 23 saves.
