COSTA MESA
Jefferson Avenue: Someone broke into a garage in the 3100 block and
stole $32,000 worth of sound system equipment between 1 and 8 a.m.
Friday.
Orange Avenue: So much for being trendy. A regretful owner of the hot
summer toy the Razor scooter, valued at $80, had it stolen from the front
of a house in the 2500 block between noon and 4 p.m. Friday.
Baker Street: Someone broke into a car parked at the Bristol Cafe and
stole a briefcase valued at $157 in the 600 block between 10 p.m.
Thursday and midnight Friday.
Fairview Road: Someone broke into Orange Coast College’s music
department in the 2700 block between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday stole a
$1,000 guitar that belonged to a student.
Harbor Boulevard: A shopper was perhaps too enthralled by the variety
of beauty products available at Kmart’s makeup department and left a
purse unattended, giving a thief the opportunity to steal $500 in cash
from the bag in the 2200 block between 1 and 1:20 p.m. Tuesday.
NEWPORT BEACH
Sandcastle Drive: Someone stole a gas-powered weed eater and leaf
blower valued at $450 from the rear of a car parked in the 1400 at 1:45
p.m. Saturday.
Aliso Avenue: Someone broke into a home in the 500 block between 5:30
p.m. Saturday and 10:57 a.m. Sunday, causing $200 in damages.
East Coast Highway: Having clean clothes was no consolation for the
unlucky person who had a wallet worth $586 was stolen while doing laundry
at the Corona del Mar Laundromat in the 3700 block at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Newport Center Drive: Someone stole $150 worth of personal property
from a Robinsons-May employee in the 100 block between 1:30 and 10:00
p.m. Thursday.
Baywood Drive: Someone scratched and dented a car in a carport in the
200 block, causing $300 in damages between 8 p.m. Friday and 8:45 a.m.
Saturday.
