Orange Coast College will play host to visiting college
representatives next month.
Students from the community college will be able to meet with
representatives from the admissions offices of UC Irvine and California
State University Fullerton three times in September.
The UC Irvine representative will be in OCC’s Transfer Center from 9
a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 6, 19 and 26.
The Cal State Fullerton representative will hold office hours from
8:40 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. Sept. 11, 18 and 25.
Appointments are recommended.
According to school officials, OCC is one of the nation’s leaders in
transferring students to four-year colleges and universities.
In 1998-1999, OCC ranked first in Southern California and third in the
state in the number of students it transferred to the University of
California and California State University systems, school officials
said.
OCC is the No. 1 transfer institution to UC Irvine and Cal State Long
Beach; No. 2 to Cal State Fullerton; and No. 3 to UCLA.
The Transfer Center is designed to assist students in transferring to
and from OCC. It is in the college’s Counseling and Admissions Annex.
OCC is at 2701 Fairview Road. For more information, call (714)
432-5894.
