* South Coast Drive: Someone stole a compact disc player valued at
$800 and assorted CDs from a car in the 900 block between 3 p.m. Tuesday
and midnight Wednesday.
* New Hampshire Drive: Someone stole $2,339 worth of high-quality
equipment, including a briefcase and laptop computer, from a car parked
in the 1600 block between 4:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and 9:30 a.m. Aug. 13.
* Republic Avenue: A mountain bike, Razor scooter and toolbox valued
at $270 were swiped from the front of a home in the 2000 block between 6
a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Aug. 14.
* Fairview Road: Someone broke into a car parked in an Orange Coast
College parking lot in the 2700 block between 10:15 a.m. and noon Aug.
14. A zebra-print purse and its contents valued at $325 were stolen.
* Baker Street: Someone stole $550 worth of stereo equipment from a
vehicle parked in the 1200 block between 8 p.m. Aug. 12 and 7 a.m. Aug.

NEWPORT BEACH
* Blue Gum Lane: Someone stole $900 worth of items from an unlocked
car parked in the 1200 block between 11 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday.
* Newport Center Drive: A $200 cellular phone was stolen from an
unlocked car parked in a Fashion Island parking structure between noon
and 2 p.m. Saturday
* Old Newport Boulevard: A salesperson in the 300 block left her
business unattended for several minutes while she used the restroom in
the 300 block at 2:15 p.m. Friday, only to return to find $49 in cash and
two personal checks had been stolen from the cash register.
* West Ocean Front: A woman was shot in the back by a pellet gun as
she walked in the 2100 block with her girlfriends at 1:05 a.m. Friday.
