About 25 Orange County high school students will graduate today from a
leadership program sponsored by Newport Beach resident and super agent
Leigh Steinberg.
The summer program, called the Leigh Steinberg Leadership Institute,
is run by the Orange County Human Relations.
The graduation ceremony will be held at 1:45 p.m. in the Argyros
Forum, Room 201, at Chapman University in Orange.
Steinberg has pledged to donate $100,000 to the summer program, which
attempts to train students from different economic, social, ethnic and
cultural backgrounds to better deal with human relations issues.
Students have discussions, go on field trips, view multimedia
presentations and conduct simulations and other interactive activities at
the institute.
The money will more than double the number of students the program can
accommodate, according to Orange County Human Relations officials.
