The Newport Beach Arts Foundation will host “An Evening at
Serenissima” benefit reception at 6:30 tonight for an exhibit of
celebrity artworks by Tony Bennett, Henry Fonda, Katharine Hepburn,
Martin Mull, Jonathan Winters and others.
In addition, works by painters and sculptors recognized both locally
and nationally will be exhibited for sale. Some featured artists will be:
Ken Auster, Marcia Brashier, Val Carson, Susie Gross, Kerry Hallam, Jeff
Horn, Richard MacDonald, Linda Mamone, Kevin A. Short, Steve Simon and
Steve Wang.
Reception tickets are $100 per person. Proceeds will benefit the
nonprofit foundation’s art education for local children.
The fund-raiser and exhibit will be held in a hilltop villa at 18
Channel Vista, Pelican Crest, Newport Coast. The villa also will be open
for tours, along with the exhibit, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and
Sunday. Tickets are $20.

Auditions to be held for ‘Hamlet’
Actors interested in male roles in a production of Shakespeare’s
“Hamlet” may audition from 3 to 6 p.m. Aug. 30.
Tryouts are at Vanguard University of Southern California’s Lyceum
Theater, 55 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa.
Performances will be held Oct. 1-3, Nov. 17-19 and Nov. 29-30 in the

‘Feast 2000’ serves tastes to aid students
The Orange County chapter of the Roundtable for Women in Foodservice
will present “Feast 2000” from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Pacific
Club, 4110 MacArthur Blvd., Newport Beach.
The fund-raiser will dish up samples from area restaurants, including
Chanteclair, The Daily Grill and Zov’s Bistro. Several California
wineries have also donated to the event.
Tickets are $75 per person. Proceeds will benefit students in the
culinary and food-service programs at Orange Coast College. Information:
