Swimming: Hwang breaks record and Bebout wins three events for Zots

FULLERTON - Locals David Hwang set a Southern California record and
Amanda Bebout won three events for the Irvine AquaZot swim club last
weekend in the Junior Olyimpics at the Janet Evans Swim Complex in
Fullerton. All are from the Newport-Mesa area.
Hwang’s record came in the boys 11-12 200 individual medley. His time
of 2:20.64 is the best in Southern California for his age group.
Bebout won the girls 10 and under 50-meter backstroke (36.19), 100
backstroke (1:16.93) and the 100 butterfly (1:13.72) to help the Zots
girls team to first place.
Stephanie Gabert had four top three finishes. She was third in the
girls 10 100 freestyle (32.87) and the 100 breaststroke (1:28.16), fourth in the 50 free (32.87) and fifth in the 200 free (2:34.88).
