COSTA MESA* Avenue of the Arts: A $400 compact disc changer was

lifted from a car parked in an underground parking lot in the 3400 block

between Wednesday and Thursday.

* Fairview Road: More than $1,850 worth of alcohol was taken from Mr.

Buck’s Liquor in the 2900 block at 3:20 a.m. Thursday.

* Bristol Street: A $350 wallet was swiped from a counter at FAO

Schwarz toy store at South Coast Plaza while the victim paid for a

purchase at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Newport Center Drive: A passport was lost in Russo’s Pet Store at

Fashion Island between 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday.

* 32nd Street/Newport Boulevard: A bodyboard, a bodyboard bag, swim

fins, a rash guard and surf shorts worth an estimated $596 were stolen

from a car Saturday while the owner ate at Carl’s Jr.

* East Balboa Boulevard: Rummaging through a sock drawer, a thief

found -- and took -- $550 in the 100 block sometime between Saturday and

Sunday.
