Pacific Coast Blue goes to Nationals

MISSION VIEJO - Newport Beach’s Pacific Coast Bobby Sox 12 and
under All-Star “Blue” softball team went undefeated in its regional
qualifier at Mission Del Norte to advance to the National Tournament,
which starts on July 26.
Pacific Coast defeated Buena Park, 13-8, in the championship game. All
12 Pacific Coast batters got a hit in the game. Hillary Ockey’s
bases-loaded double broke the game open for Pacific Coast.
In its first game, Pacific Blue pulled out a 6-5 victory over West
Fullerton. Kelly Tops made a shoestring catch and doubled up a runner at
second in the fourth to stop a West Fullerton rally.
Pacific Blue beat Buena Park, 13-8, in its second game.It came back
from a 7-1 deficit with nine runs in the fourth. The third game was a
blowout as Pacific Blue hammered Canyon Hills, 16-1. Pitchers Amanda
Billing, Michelle Tolfa and Holly Van Hiel combined for the win.
