The Fountain Valley Youth Baseball Bronco A All-Star team routed
Anaheim, 16-0, Sunday, to win the 2000 Pony Baseball District All-Star
Tournament held at Mile Square Park.
Pitchers Jeff Hann and Garrett Leon held Anaheim to just two hits, and
each had a hand in Fountain Valley’s offensive fireworks by hitting a
home run.
Jeff Roth’s grand slam was the offensive highlight of the game.
Fountain Valley entered the district tournament fresh from a first
place finish at the Los Alamitos Fish Fry Tournament, where it posted an
8-0 record.
The Bronco A All-Star team, who will take their unbeaten postseason
record of 12-0 into the Section Tournament Friday in Garden Grove, are
also comprised of Dustin Aoyagi, Chad Blauer, Sam Bridges, Jason
Croswell, Branden Lawson, Jake Mahlstedt, Thomas Marcin, Kyle Mastel,
Cameron McMullen, Brett Nagel, Dean Otsuka, and Ryan Stehle.
