ISSUE: 2000-2001 BUDGET
Vote: 4-0
Summary: The Fountain Valley School District Board of Trustees
approved the 2000-2001 budget at its June 22 meeting. Trustee Robert
Sedlak was absent.
The budget includes a total revenue of $37.7 million. Revenue sources,
which come from state and local taxes and state aid, make up 69.2% of the
fund. Federal aid adds 2.8%, state money accounts for another 23.8%, and
local funds make up the remainder.
ISSUE: LEASE INCREASE
Vote: 4-0
Summary: The board agreed to increase a lease with Orange County by
$1,500 per year for the use of a portion of Nieblas School by California
Children Services. The increase will help to pay for air conditioning.
The county has 10 more years on the lease.
ISSUE: PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Vote: 4-0
Summary: The board agreed to install new playground equipment at Oka,
Newland, Plavan, Courreges elementary schools and the preschool at Oka.
The cost will total about $190,000, district officials said.
ISSUE: NEW ROOFS
Vote: 4-0
Summary: The district plans to reroof Nieblas School and the
mechanical housing units at Moiola, Cox and Gisler schools. District
officials estimate the job will cost about $285,000.
