Summary: The school board adopted the budget for the 2000-2001 school
year June 27.
ISSUE: PORTABLE BUILDING
Vote: 5-0
Summary: The board approved the purchase of a double-wide portable
classroom for the YMCA, which leases space at Moffett Elementary School.
The YMCA will pay all costs for the unit. The YMCA has been using an old,
single-size portable at the school and needs a bigger unit to accommodate
its growth. The unit will cost about $64,000, with an additional $15,000
for architectural, engineering and inspection services, as well as
electrical, fire alarm and communication hookups.
ISSUE: REPAIRS

Summary: The board approved contracts for repairs at several schools.
A water line will be replaced at Eader Elementary School for $13,600.
Also, work will be done on the asphalt at Dwyer Middle, and Perry, Hawes,
Peterson and Smith elementary schools for about $22,000.
Hawes, Kettler and Moffett elementary schools will be painted over the
summer for about $48,000.
