Football: Pirates’ Taylor honored

Orange Coast College football coach Mike Taylor will be honored for
his numerous contributions at the All-American Football Foundation’s
Banquet of Champions XXVI, scheduled Wednesday at the Biltmore Hotel in
Los Angeles.
Taylor will be one of seven to receive the Bill Wade Unsung Hero Award at
the banquet.
The other seven to be honored include Bob Toledo, Duke Llewellyn and
Woody Strode from UCLA, Ward Bond and Bill O’Bradovich from USC and
Francis “Scoop” Evans from the University of Maryland.In othr OCC

Woody Otis, third on the team with 75 tackles as a sophomore cornerback
last fall, has agreed to play at New Mexico Highlands University this
season, according to Taylor.
A 6-foot, 190-pounder from Huntington Beach, Otis also broke up five
passes and had a pair of interceptions for the Pirates.
