ENGAGEMENTS

The engagement of Bethany Johnson of Boone, N.C., and Matthew “Mash”

Alexander, of Ithaca, N.Y., has been announced.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Joanne Williams and the late Warren M.

Johnson of Boone, N.C. She is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont

and currently attends Cornell University.

The groom-to-be is the son of Charlotte and Richard Alexander of Costa

Mesa. He is a graduate of Newport Harbor High School, Middlebury College

and currently attends Cornell University.

A July 22 wedding is planned at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church in Boone,

N.C.

Following a honeymoon in Turkey, the couple will return to New York to

complete their graduate studies at Cornell.
