South Coast Repertory is holding auditions for its Professional
Conservatory, an intensive eight-week summer training program for serious
acting students.
Professional Conservatory classes will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
daily, June 6 through July 29 at the theater. The classes will coincide
with its third annual Pacific Playwrights Festival of new plays by
budding young writers.
Professional Conservatory is taught by Karen Hensel, an actress who has
performed at SCR for 20 years and won the Los Angeles Drama Critics
Circle Award for her role in SCR’s production of “Top Girls.”
Hensel and others will prepare students for top acting roles. Enrollment
is limited to 35 students in order to focus on individual training.
Coursework involves all phases of development for the growing actor.
Professional Conservatory enrollment is by audition only and will
continue through June 1 at SCR, 655 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa.
