NBLL Majors: Giants edge Angels

NEWPORT BEACH - The Giants used solid defense and timely hitting to

knock off the Angels, 6-5, in the first round of the Newport Beach Little

League Majors Division playoffs last weekend.

The Giants committed no errors and threw out three different Angel

runners at the plate, keeping the game close.

Zack Milder had two hits and scored two runs, while Michael Kordich

doubled and scored twice.

Jamie Kline’s base hit in the seventh inning drove in the the winning run

for the Giants.

On the mound for the Giants, Tom Money and Philip Bannan combined to

strike out seven, while allowing only five hits.

For the Angels, Ryan Lance and Jonathan Cabin each pitched well and

Brandon Mason had two doubles and scored two runs.
