Bloomingdale’s Home Store is having a big sale today on its Ralph Lauren
home collection of bedding, towels, linens, table settings, china and
crystal. Ralph Lauren merchandise is reduced 20% to 50% for the sale.
Included in the sale are sheet collections like Ardsley Square, Estate,
Fairchild and Sussex Garden. Also 20% off is the best-selling bedding
called Medieval, which is combination of floral and paisleys reduced by
20%. There is a great buy on “Polo Player” sheets at $14.99 for a twin sheet. They come in a variety of colors, including celadon, peony pink,
yacht blue, regatta red, royal navy, vicuna, parchment or magnolia white.
Ralph Lauren’s “Avenue” towels come with free monogramming and are
considered to be the company’s most luxurious towels. They have two-ply
Egyptian cotton on one side and single-ply cotton on the reverse. The
sale price is $19.99 for a bath towel, a hand towel is $13.99, a
washcloth is $6.99, a tub mat is $24.99, and a bath sheet is $29.99.

South Coast Plaza has added a new concept store, Henry Cotton’s, a men’s
clothing company that combines Italian taste and classic American fit
with a traditional look. Remo Ruffini, who is the new creative force at
Henry Cotton’s, designed the latest collection. Tuscany countryside and
English tradition inspired the men’s lifestyle clothing collection.
Niketown has added five new shoe styles under the Max Air label, the
latest in Nike footwear technology. Each style is designed for a
different sport: running, training, basketball and cross-training. There
is the Air Max Deluxe, men’s Air Metal Max, Air Garnett III, women’s Air
Max Deluxe and women’s Air Metal IV. All have “air cushioning” that Nike
is famous for. All of the shoes are $140, except for the women’s Air

Garys Island has opened a new flagship store at Fashion Island in Newport
Beach. Among the new improvements are an expanded kids department, a
complete resort shoe department, a greater selection of apparel and

If you’re looking for hard-to-find light bulbs, look no further than the
new Light Bulbs Etc. store. It recently moved to 1844 Newport Blvd. in
Costa Mesa. The much larger store carries an extensive selection of light
bulbs in every size and wattage. There’s also a big selection of
lighting, fixtures, novelty lights, Christmas lights, neon lights and

The best watch repair service is at Star Time. The small watch store can
fix, on the premises, just about any watch problem you might have. And
the service is excellent. It also carries watches by Seiko, LaSalle,

also wall clocks, watchbands and watch batteries for all makes. It’s at

Trader Joe’s has recently come out with May’s Fearless Flyer, the catalog
on new values throughout the store. Some of the values include organic
extra virgin olive oil from Italy at $2.99 for a 8.5-ounce bottle,
Oncidium orchids for $12.99, frozen lemonade concentrate at 69 cents for
a 12-ounce can, teriyaki turkey jerky for $2.99, natural sodas at $1.59
per six-pack and skinless boneless quick frozen chicken breasts at $5.99
per 2.5-pound bag. Trader Joe’s is also famous for its deals on good
