RETAIL ROUNDUP
We at Retail Roundup spend a lot of time worrying about facial wrinkles
and fine lines, so it came as a great relief to hear that the Sephora
store in South Coast Plaza is having an anti-aging event today with
dermatologist Howard Murad.
Murad will be presenting a few of his “prescriptions for Anti-Aging,”
including such exotic approaches as a “Vitamin C Infusion Home Facial
Treatment.”
Retail Roundup doesn’t know whether this treatment will work or not, but
we note there will be free food at the event. We’ll be there, wrinkles
and all, to hog the brie.
RUN RABBIT, RUN
In other South Coast Plaza news, The White Rabbit Bookstore is moving to
the Costa Mesa mall, bringing its 35,000 titles of children’s books to
inquiring young minds.
The store is the second White Rabbit -- the first one is down in La
Jolla, where it’s been since 1978.
Retail Roundup has searched in vain for some aspect of this story to poke
fun at, but alas, we’ve determined there’s nothing to do but say “Welcome
to Costa Mesa” and encourage readers to check out the selection.
ACCESSORIZE, ACCESSORIZE!
What good is it having a Range Rover if you don’t have a Thule rack on
the roof? Retail Roundup has often shaken its collective head at the
failure of motorists to properly accessorize their sport-utility
vehicles.
Fortunately, a Newport Beach company called Motor Vehicle ATmarket is
working to make it easier to get a Thule rack, a funny little shovel, a
water can and whatever other gratuitous merchandise might properly
complement one’s “sport ute.”
The company uses an online distribution system to sell these baubles to
the consumer while they’re in the dealership showroom.
So now there’s no excuse: buy the gear, and get the look right. Retail
Roundup will applaud your eminently stylish consumption.
