Rangers hold off Cardinals, 8-7

Rangers relief pitcher Travis Camarena entered Saturday’s game
facing a jam, but worked his way out of trouble and the Rangers were able
to hold off the Cardinals for an 8-7 Minor A Division victory in
Huntington Valley Little League action.
Camarena held off the Cardinals after the Cards had scored six runs in
the bottom of the sixth inning and had put runners in scoring position.
Camarena also had a big day offensively, with two hits. Alex Holtz had a
two-RBI single and Jimmy Queen, Chris Ottens, Adrian Sanchez, and Josh
Herrera all had two hits for the Rangers.
Corey Caplinger, Kyle Shibel, and Adam Cutts each had key hits during the
sixth inning, and Nick Becker, who finished with three hits, had a
two-RBI doubleIn other games:
Mets 10, Yankees 3
Race Parmenter went 3 for 3 with a double, Kyle Ammons finished 2 for 2
with a double, and Liam McGinn went 2 for 2 for the Mets.
Indians 18, Marlins 2
Justin Thompson tripled among three hits, Michael Bogard and Karcher
Morris each had three hits, Andy Patalsky tripled and doubled, and Sean
King added a pair of hits for the Indians; Tyler Paul tripled, Luke
Patrick doubled and singled, and Trevor Pagenkopp and Erik Morentin each
had two hits for the Marlins.
MINOR B DIVISION
Cubs 15, Cardinals 3
Nick Mazzone hit a three-RBI triple, Daniel Tierney and Dave Folger each
had two hits, and Connor Baggett, Pat Doran, and Tevah Jones each doubled
to lead the Cubs; Weston Stephens and Bobby Gimenez both doubled for the
Cardinals.
Dodgers 8, White Sox 5
Shawn Stiffler’s key double helped get the Dodgers past the White Sox;
Richard Levinson doubled and singled and Tanner Class doubled for the
White Sox.
Yankees 11, Diamondbacks 3
Jack Gordon hit an inside-the-park home run and Kalin Kanaston doubled
among two hits for the Yankees; Travis Hanley went 2 for 3 to lead the
Diamondbacks.
