Cardinals tame Mariners, 8-0
Behind the solid pitching of Brett Sterbens and Chris Palmer, the
Cardinals posted an 8-0 shutout victory over the Mariners last weekend in
Ocean View Little League Majors Division play.
Sterbens and Palmer each pitched three innings, and scattered four hits.
Sterbens also starred on offense with a solo home run to center field.
Tomas Yoo singled twice and Light Walleman and Matt Archer each had a hit
for the Mariners.

Reds 8, Angels 3
Hank Conger delivered a two-run home run and Jeffrey Van Doornum had an
RBI double during a four-run sixth inning as the unbeaten Reds broke open
a tight game; Scott Melchert had two hits and an RBI, Thomas Burns had a
hit and RBI, and Jon Groth had two hits and scored twice for the Angels.
MINOR A DIVISION
Red Sox 23, Rangers 7
Stephen Murray had three hits and pitched two shutout innings, Ellis
Jackson delivered three hits and five RBI, and Justin Pack hit a home run
to pave the way for the Red Sox.
Reds 5, Pirates 4
Mickey Caldwell (three hits) came up with a game-winning two-RBI single
in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Reds, who also got a double
from Anthony Peralta and solid pitching from Kyle Hughes and Matt Ayster
(five strikeouts); Albert Breitwieser had an RBI triple, Daniel Williams
hit an RBI single, and Finn Jensen had an RBI double for the Pirates.
Brewers 5, Tigers 4
Brian Conroy (two hits) came up with a bases loaded bunt single to score
the game-winning run for the Brewers, Ryan Siwieki had two hits and an
RBI, Phillip Cobb hit an RBI triple, and Dalton Hunkle had three hits for
the Brewers; Travis Kaufman and Cole Tischer each had two hits for the
Tigers.
MINOR B DIVISION
Angels 7, Astros 5
Sean Carpenter decided the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the
sixth inning to lead the Angels.
