CdM falls, 3-0

IRVINE - Corona del Mar High pitcher Cavan Cuyler struck out eight

and walked just one, but host University struck for three runs in the

fourth inning and it paid off with a 3-0 Sea View League baseball

victory.

Corona del Mar’s only real look came in the third inning when the Sea

Kings loaded the bases with two outs, but the champion Trojans got out of

the jam, then retaliated in the fourth inning of an errorless game.

“It was the best game we’ve played all year,” said CdM Coach John Emme,

whose team fell to 12-10, 5-5 in league.

Corona del Mar can clinch a berth in the upcoming CIF Playoffs with one

victory over the next two games, both against Costa Mesa.
