More than 450 of Orange County’s top real estate and building
professionals gathered to lend support at United Way’s inaugural Real
Estate & Building Industry Luncheon 2000, co-chaired by Michael Myer and
Thomas Nielsen.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Roger Staubach, who is also CEO and chairman
of The Staubach Co., a successful real estate strategy and service firm,
was the keynote speaker.
In his keynote address, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback shared
stories of giving back, to both his team and to his peers. “It is through
giving back that we can achieve balance,” he said.
The luncheon raised more than $110,000 for Orange County’s United Way.
The event also showcased a new United Way initiative called Keeping Kids
on Track, which focuses on tutoring, mentoring and safe after-school
programs that assist young people ages 7 to 17 in school.
