Hurricanes tie Costa Mesa
The Hurricanes out of Region 56 bounced back from a 1-0 loss in the
morning to earn a 1-1 tie with Costa Mesa later in the day Saturday in
boys Under-10 Orange County Spring League playoff action at Balearic
Soccer Field in Costa Mesa.
David Taylor broke a scoreless halftime tie with a second half goal to
give the Hurricanes a 1-0 lead against Costa Mesa, but the host squad
came back to score later in the half to forge the tie.
Hurricane goalie David Johnson helped preserve the halftime tie by
stopping four shots on goal.
In the opener against South Irvine, a 1-0 loss, Brett Webber tended goal
for the Hurricanes and came up with three saves. The Hurricanes assaulted
the South Irvine goal on three occasions -- each shot by Aashik Chela,
but could not find the net.
