a live elephant in the parade. Although they are cared for well, we all
know how nervous these mammals can get with noisy crowds. My suggestion
would be to block off an area away from the parade route, say the park or
a nearby area, and let the elephant be viewed by children and such. It’s
a worthwhile adventure.

control has become so critical that a bill was recently introduced in
Congress to protect elephants and the public -- HR 2929, the Captive
Elephant Accident Prevention Act.There is a whole lot for the organizers
of the Huntington Beach Fourth of July parade to be aware of when
considering “The Elephant Walk”.
