Boys golf: Olson, Kush tied for fifth

LA HABRA - After the first day of the Sea View League Tournament,

Newport Harbor High’s Kevin Olson and Dan Kush are tied for fifth with a

score of 77. The 18-hole match was played at Westridge Country Club in La

Habra, par 72.

Six Sailors made the cut for Thursday’s second round. Mitch Johns is tied

for eighth with a score of 79. Miller Akins and Traighe Concannon both

shot 81, and Scott Tippett scored 82 to make the cut. The current leader

is Nate Yates of Woodbridge with a score of 72. Thursday’s second and

final round will also be played at Westridge. The top six finishers

qualify for the CIF individual championship.
