Men’s water polo: U.S. beats Russia, 10-9

NICE, France - Chris Oeding, the United States water polo team
captain and the head coach of Orange Coast College’s men’s and women’s
water polo team, scored four goals to lead the Americans past Russia,
10-9, in the semifinals of the French Open Saturday.
Wolf Wigo scored two. The United states put up five goals in the third
quarter to take the lead. The Americans are coached by John Vargas, head
coach of Corona del Mar High’s boys and girls water polo team. The United
States faced Italy in the championship game Sunday.
