College baseball: Vanguard blanked by The Master’s

SANTA CLARITA - Three pitchers from The Master’s College combined

on a three-hit shutout as the host Mustangs earned a 7-0 Golden State

Athletic Conference baseball triumph over Vanguard University Thursday.

James Dent went 1 for 3 with a walk to highlight the Lions.

Mustang starter Mike Ploharz allowed just one hit and walked two in six

strong innings to record his 10th victory in as many decisions.

Anthony Walker pitched two hitless innings of shutout relief for

Vanguard.

The Master’s improved to 29-7.
