In brief
Newport Dunes will host an Easter weekend celebration, starting Friday
with an egg hunt and luncheon for children from Canyon Acres Children’s
Services.
The group of 40 children and their families are invited to participate in
finding 3,000 colorful eggs, followed by a luncheon at the Bayview Room.
The day will also include decorating bonnets, baskets and eggs. Once the
decorations are all in place, the Easter Bunny will hop across the sandy
shores of the bay and join the children.
On Saturday morning, the Dunes will host another egg hunt for local
children 11 and younger. There will be more than 1,000 eggs hidden on the
shore. Youngsters are encouraged to bring their own baskets, although
some will be available for purchase.
Following the hunt, a pancake breakfast will be served at the Bayview
Room. There will also be a number of Easter-themed games for the children
afterward.
The events will wrap up Sunday with a bike parade and brunch.
