The best of the best in Easter decor can be found at Roger’s Gardens. The

gallery and garden rooms are filled with all kinds of decorations that

include ceramic Easter baskets, collectible candy holders, Chalkware

rabbits, hand-painted Easter eggs, marble, shells and fossil eggs,

colorful gift cones and English Basket Gardens. I can’t think of a better

place to find Easter items. Roger’s Gardens is at 2301 San Joaquin Hills

The gift shop at the Newport Harbor Nautical Museum has reopened and it

has a new look. The shop is twice as big and it has new nautical clothes

and gifts. There is also a children’s section complete with toys,

puzzles, clothes and more. The museum is aboard the stern-wheeler “Pride

of Newport” at 151 E. Coast Highway in Newport Beach. The hours are

My favorite shop for portable electronics, Affordable Portables/Pacific

Bell Pure Digital PCS store, is having a great bargain today -- no sales

tax. This store is a great place to find digital phones, Walkman stereos,

portable phones, pagers and alarm clocks. The front part of the showroom

is filled mostly with digital phones and accessories, but there is a back

room where you can find more portable items including radios and Motorola

Talkabouts. The store is in the Costa Mesa Courtyards.

A family arts day featuring “A Tapestry of Cultures” is scheduled for

April 30 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Orange County Museum of Art. The free

event includes Nigerian talking drums, Indian mandalas, Central American

yarn painting, African masks, Arpana Dance Company, We Tell Stories and

free refreshments. The museum will offer tours in English and Spanish.

A new 24-Hour Fitness will open in August on Anton Avenue in the South

Coast Metro area of Costa Mesa. It’s offering new members a double
