NBLL Majors: Yankees handle Mariners

NEWPORT BEACH - Yankee pitchers Vinnie Saint John, Matt Hauser and

Mike Orozco combined to shut down the Mariners, 6-3, in Newport Beach

Little League Majors Division action last weekend.

Kyle Schneekluth came through with a triple to bring in the winning runs

for the Yankees.

In other NBLL Majors’ action:

Yankees 3, Reds 2 - Kyle Schneekluth pitched three effective innings to

lead the Yankees over the Reds.

Vinnie Saint John and Michael Orozco came in relief to slam the door on

the Reds.

Zachary Von Berg’s RBI single keyed the winning rally for the Yankees.

Dodgers 8, Diamondbacks 4 - Matt Raiger and Shaun Moler combined to toss

a one-hitter to lead the Dodgers over the D-Backs.

Kelsey Chase, Matt Loyd, Jamie Bloom and Raiger contributed to the

Dodgers’ offense.

For the Diamondbacks, Spencer Wampole and Hunt Rychal pitched well and

Wyatt Cole scored twice.

Dodgers 8, Mariners 4 - Jamie Bloom and Alan Hardison each had three hits

to lead the Dodgers over the Mariners.

Hardison’s three hits gives him seven straight hits over two games.

Matt Raiger and Nick Pike combined to pitch effectively for the Dodgers,

while Zach Rabosky sparkled in defense with a diving catch.

Tony Jones and Eric Eadington led the Mariners’ offense, while Conner

Ferguson and Devin Kelly each pitched well.

Dodgers 7, Mariners 0 - Shaun Mohler pitched a no-hitter and hammered a

home run for the Dodgers in their win over the Mariners.

Mohler struck out 14 batters over six innings, while Matt Raiger, Spencer

Brown, Ryan Guthrie and Alan Hardison contributed to the offense with a

combined eight hits.

Diamondbacks 8, Giants 7 - Scott Colton drove in three runs and scored

twice to pace the Diamondbacks over the Giants.

Spencer Wampole, Peter Poletaev and Wyatt Cole also chipped in with key

hits for the D-Backs.

For the Giants, Phillip Bannan threw scoreless innings to keep the game

close.
