Walters no-hits Dodgers as Astros prevail, 1-0

Astros pitching ace Dallas Walters pitched a complete game
no-hitter to lead his ballclub to a 1-0 victory over the Dodgers and
highlight Saturday’s Majors Division play at Ocean View Little League.
The defensive struggle also featured a strong pitching performance by the
Dodgers’ Stephen Donahue, who allowed six hits.
The victory by the Astros reversed a 1-0 Dodgers’ win on opening day.
The only run in the game came in the first inning, as consecutive hits by
Kris Bernard, David Jacobs, and Walters produced a 1-0 Astros’ lead.
Bernard led all hitters with three hits, and scored the game’s lone run.

Cardinals 5, Mariners 1
The Cardinals shut down the Mariners behind the pitching of Brett
Sterbens, Cole Shandrick, and Chris Palmer, while the offense was led by
Nick Mendoza’s two hits and a double and run scored by Sterbens. For the
Mariners, Nick Orendorff singled and scored and Thomas Yoo doubled.
Reds 14, Angels 0
The unbeaten, division-leading Reds pounded out 18 hits, with every spot
in the batting order getting a hit. James Kang led the barrage with three
hits, both Dylan Nicholson and Robert Peck had two hits, and pitchers
Kang and Nicholson combined on the shutout. The Angels received hits from
both Kyle Marvin and Brian Hoops.
